The School House Anywhere Vero Beach | Micro School

The School House Anywhere Vero Beach has created a unique community environment where children have access to group learning with an amazing curriculum and beautiful program. Our homeschool Micro-School is innovative and expansive and incorporates both a Learner library and a Parent library. 

We want children to have a space that they can learn uninterrupted in a creative and supportive way. We want children to have The School House experience, but with the flexibility of homeschooling. Children in this stage of development need to have a community that they can learn and grow with, as well as form their own mini society. However, we all know that public school is not what is best for our children, and we would like to participate in the education of our children. We believe we have created the best of both worlds with The School House Anywhere Vero Beach.

School Hours: Monday through Thursdays from 9am to 3pm.  

Curriculum: The American Emergent Curriculum

Program Description: During the 2024-2025 school year, we will meet Monday through Thursdays from 9am to 3pm. Learners will have one hour for lunch and recess. During our morning and afternoon work cycles, we utilize the materials in the space and use the American Emergent Curriculum, as well as participate in the workshops that will be offered throughout the week.  You will also have access to that curriculum and the program on TSHAnywhere.org where you can use the curriculum at home as well to supplement what we are doing at school as you see fit. 

Each day of the week, Learners will participate in additional weekly workshops of Spanish, Art, and Music.  Learners will be grouped up by ability, rather than by grade, so that they can get the most of their workshop session.   We will also have Jam Sessions on occasion for selected Learners to enhance their abilities and interests.

Our Learners will also be participating with our Vero Beach community in many ways, including hosting our pop-up restaurants under the guidance of Chef Sue, participating in local markets where Learners can sell their handmade goods, and many field trips to see the many things our town and country have to offer.   

We will also host some events for the Learners to show off their skills like an invention fair, talent show, concerts and performances, and some business competitions!  We also have a large Learner library in our environment as well as a Parent library to help Parents along on their homeschooling journey.  

Learners who attend our program are independent, motivated, self-driven Learners who are hard-working and enjoy a challenge.  They must have a desire to learn, and apply their knowledge to their work and with others in the classroom.  There is an expectation of kindness and support from each Learner towards one another.  

At this time, The School House Anywhere Vero Beach, does not have the resources or ability to meet the needs of students with special needs.  It is our mission to provide our Learners with the highest of standards, and we do not yet have the capacity to accommodate additional services or specialized attention.  However, we can provide guidance and support for you to utilize The School House Anywhere program with your child in your home!  We thank you for your understanding.

Lunch: Lunch will be provided on Mondays! We will have Chef Sue Torres joining us one on Mondays. She will be working with all of the Learners at various times, and lunch will be included on the day that the Learners work with Chef Sue.  All meals will include organic and natural ingredients whenever possible, with absolutely no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. She will be working with local farms to obtain ingredients, as well as utilizing the garden the Learners will be making.  Chef Sue can accommodate most dietary restrictions on the days that your Learner(s) are working with her.  If your Learner is not working with Chef Sue on that Monday, real, authentic pizza will be provided!  (Gluten free and vegan will also be accommodated.) 

Tuition: The annual tuition is $10,500.00 for each Learner. You have the option to pay it in one payment, or to break it down into 10 installments*.  $500 is due at the time of enrollment, and the first installment of $1000.00 starts on August 31st and the last payment is on May 31st. This fee covers all of the expenses for your Learner, including the curriculum, access to the website and Transparent Classroom, all school supplies, materials, any food or lunch provided, Educators, all workshops and Jam Sessions, access to our Learner library and Parent library and our group learning environment.  

*Should you choose to pay in installments, please understand that it is not considered a monthly expense, but that is the total cost of the program each year offered as a payment plan over ten payments for your convenience.  

After School Option: The Vero Reading Garden will be joining The School House Anywhere to provide afterschool tutoring for reading and writing as member’s only rate from 3pm-4pm on our campus.  Please reach out to Heather Reeb at Vero Reading Garden | Where Literacy Grows to sign up for this after school option.
